Salad cole slou - a traditional classic dish of North American cuisine. The name "Cole slaw" can be translated as "shredded cabbage". Usually, this salad is served along with various meat and fish snacks. It can be said that this dish is cooked in its own way in every American family (you can notice some regional peculiarities), however, it is possible to outline common features: the cole salad is prepared from chopped cabbage (sometimes several kinds), carrots and dressings.

Seasoning for the cole layer is a complex mixture of sour cream, mayonnaise, wine vinegar, mustard, salt, pepper, celery seeds, fennel and coriander, sometimes with the addition of granulated sugar. Variants of filling with grated horseradish and / or poppy seeds or sesame seeds are known. Possible and dietary options for filling stations, which are based on natural live yogurt. It should be noted that from the point of view of dietetics, refueling based on yogurt is undoubtedly more useful.

Calculation of ingredients for 4-6 servings.

In cabbage, remove the outer leaves and shred it with thin straws. We also do the carrots. Onions are cleaned and sliced thin half rings or quarter rings. We mix everything in a salad bowl.

We prepare the refueling: we press garlic press, as much as possible finely chop the spicy pepper. Mix with the rest of the filling components. Fill the salad and mix. A characteristic feature of American salads - the sauce should not be small, rather the salad should almost "float" in it. Of course, the availability of fresh herbs (parsley, green onions, basil, rosemary and coriander) on the list of ingredients will only improve the taste of the cole salad.
