Prayers before communion and confession

Communion and confession are two church ordinances through which every Christian passes. Communion includes fasting , prayer and repentance. And confession is itself, in fact, repentance.

Both of these mean, above all, not that you are forgiven of sins, but that you forgive them for those who have done you harm. God will forgive us only if we forgive our enemies.

Before the communion and confession, of course, you should read the prayers. This is part of the preparation, but, in fact, the preparation must be all our life, which should be lived according to the laws of the Gospel.

Communion

In Christianity they say that communion is like a second baptism. When a child is baptized, he is saved from original sin, which conveys to us all from Adam and Eve. When we take communion, we get rid of our sins, acquired with our own hands after the baptism. In any case, this is an important turning point in everyone's life.

On the eve before the communion and confession, one should not only read the prayers, but also attend the evening worship. After or before the service, one must confess.

As for home preparation, you need to observe a weekly fast, and from midnight until the end of the sacrament, refrain from eating. All this week, you need to read penitential prayers before confession, for example, this:

"God and Lord of all! Every breath and soul have the same power, One heal my soul, hear the supplication of me, the wretched, and nesting in me the serpent by the inspiration of the All-Holy and Life-giving Spirit, killing the consumer: and all the poor and naked are all virtues, at the feet of my holy father (spiritual) with tears I'll help you with adversity, and his holy soul to mercy, if you please me, they attract. And give, Lord, in my heart the humility and thoughts of the good that befit a sinner who agreed to You to repent, and yes, without completely leaving the soul alone, combined with Thee and the one who confessed Thee, and instead of the whole world chose and preferred thee: God weighs, Lord, to escape, even if my evil custom is an obstacle: But it is possible for You, Vladyka, is the whole, the essence of a person is not possible. Amen".

Confession

There is no special prescription about which prayers should be read before confession, and which do not. You can turn to God in your own words, or any church prayer, most importantly, that the penitent, realizing his sinfulness, sincerely asked God to send to him grace that will help get rid of the former sinful way of life.

You can read the following short church prayers:

"Come, Holy Ghost, enlighten my mind, that I may become more aware of my sins; prompt my will to genuine repentance in them, to a sincere confession and a decisive correction of my life. "

"O Mary, Mother of God, Sanctuary of sinners, intercede for me."

"Holy Guardian Angel, my patron saints, ask for me from God the grace of a genuine confession of sins."

Preparing for Confession

Confession is not just a tradition observed by Christians before church holidays or participles, it is a daily necessity for a sensible person. Both the adult and the small should to realize their sins (wrongdoings, mistakes), and, accordingly, must repent before God in their commission.

During confession, one can not withhold a single sin committed from a priest and sincerely repent of their accomplishment. Preparing for confession is to rethink your life: you need to find the qualities of character, personality characteristics, deeds, events that will be preached by God's commandments. If there is such an opportunity, you need to ask forgiveness of those whom you offended, well, and, of course, you should read the evening prayer before confession.

And during the very confession, it is better not to wait for the priest's questions, to confess frankly to all your sins.
