Each owner seeks to make his home beautiful, not only inside, but also outside. And in order to make your house look original and exquisite, you should especially take care of its facade.
The facade part of each building is exposed to various negative external influences: high humidity, ultraviolet radiation, sharp temperature fluctuations. In addition, any facade of the building suffers from freezing and water dimensioning.
When building many buildings use different elements of decoration. Previously, gypsum, stone , concrete, etc. were used for these purposes. However, today such materials have a serious competitor: a facade decoration made of polystyrene with a coating.
Production of facade decoration from foam plastic
For the manufacture of facade decoration , various grades of foam are used, as well as a variety of polystyrene foam. Of these materials, various decorative elements are obtained on special modern CNC machines by contour cutting or annealing. Then they are coated by spraying or pulling a strong and at the same time elastic reinforcing coating. Most often this is a special mineral mixture on acrylic basis. After this, the products are dried under special temperature conditions. Finished decor elements are cleaned and polished.
Such a facade decoration made of polystyrene with a coating fully meets the requirements of technical specifications. The coating will reliably protect the product from various atmospheric influences. In this case, such stucco will have sufficient hardness and excellent external data.
Advantages of façade decor from foam
In comparison with stucco from natural materials, the facade decor of foam has many advantages:
- low weight of products, and, therefore, minimum load on the load-bearing part of the building;
- ease and convenience of installation;
- strength and durability;
- is not prone to rot and mold;
- relatively low cost;
- Possibility of use at temperatures from -55 ° С to + 80 ° С;
- resistance to moisture and sunlight;
- sizes and shapes of products can be very different.
To decorate the building, such elements made of foam plastic, such as cornices and moldings, pilasters and columns, balusters, brackets and many others are used.
The installation of the facade decoration is completely uncomplicated and it can easily be mastered by a novice master. You should know only some of the features of its installation. Work on decorating the building with a façade decor of foam is best done in the warm season: spring or summer. In order to install elements of the facade decoration on the building, its walls should be cleaned and aligned beforehand. The possible deviation is no more than 10 mm per 1 sq. Km. m area. If the old plaster has cavities, then they should be filled with cement.
Mounted facade foam plastic decor with a special glue. Various anchoring devices and embedded parts can also be used. However, in this case, the presence of a glue base is necessary, since only this way it is possible to ensure the absolute density of the adjoining of the decor element to the base.
The glue is applied to the back side of the product, it is firmly pressed against the substrate and held in this position until the adhesive solution "seizes". Additionally, you can strengthen the elements with dowels, but you can do this only after the glue has dried completely.
After the installation of all the parts has been completed, it is necessary to seal the dowel attachment points and connect all the elements. This is done using a facade sealant. And after it dries, the facade decor is primed and painted in two layers with acrylic paint. The facade, decorated with such a foamy decor, does not differ from that of natural materials.
