Green onions for the winter

With the onset of cold days, you can often see a green onion on the windowsill. In this way, resourceful housewives provide themselves and their families with vitamins for the winter. It is enough just to find a suitable container, pour water into it and, placing it on the windowsill, lower the heads of the onion with roots in the water. Frozen green onions for the winter

This method not only preserves all useful substances in onion feathers, but also saves you from having to make windows of an apartment with jars with a sprouting onion. First of all, make sure that your freezer can provide a constant temperature within -18 ... -23 ° C. Rinse the spring onions and dry them thoroughly, using napkins or towels that absorb moisture well. If the onion is not dried, then the ground mass will become one large lump of vitamins, but the cooked beauty dishes will not add. The dried feathers will not stick together, which means they will not spoil the appearance of cooked soup or sauce.

Dry, clean onions finely chop finely and put them in handfuls in plastic bags. Then squeeze out excess air from the bag, tie it tightly and put it in the freezer. This method of storage allows you to use frozen onions for the next season while preparing various dishes, all its useful properties will be preserved, and it will take up a relatively small space. Please note that frozen foods can only be used for adding during cooking, but not in raw form.

Growing spring onions in winter

You can, of course, grow a full onion in winter, on the window, in pots. But this will require not only the availability of land, suitable pots and sufficient space, but also regular watering. It's easier to put jars of water and thus grow a green onion. After a while the bulb will run out and it will have to be thrown away. But until that moment you can cut a bunch of juicy green feathers several times, which you can not only add to your food, but also eat raw.
