How to feed the plum to fructify?

Not to occasionally, and annually to collect a good crop of plums, it is necessary to take good care of this tree. One of the most important points is the introduction of fertilizers. How and how to feed the plum, so that it fructifies well, and the fruits do not fall off, we will tell in this article.

What fertilizers need a sink?

It is not possible to name the best fertilizer for stone fruit (apple, plum, cherry), so that they will bear fruit well. This is due to the fact that they need both organic and mineral fertilizing. For plums, preparations containing phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium are especially important. These include: ammonium nitrate, urea, superphosphate , ammonium sulphate, potassium salt, as well as ash (wood and grain crops). The main thing is to bring them in at a time when the tree needs them.

How and when to apply fertilizer under the sink?

At the very beginning of spring (especially for young trees) it is necessary to introduce nitrogen-containing fertilizers (nitrate or urea 20-25 g per 1 m sup2, and ammonium sulphate 60 g per 1 m sup2) and the manure. Depending on the quality of the soil, additional fertilizers may be required. For example: lime, wood ash or lime-ammonium nitrate should be added to acidic soils.

Also in the spring, in order to increase the yield, it is recommended to spray the crown of the tree with a 0.5% urea solution. This top dressing is done several times with an interval of 7-10 days.

For already formed trees (over 3 years old), in autumn, during the digging up of the earth, it is necessary to make potassium (30-45 g per 1 m & sup2) and phosphorus (70 - 80 g per 1 m & sup2) fertilizer. This is due to the fact that these minerals are difficult to dissolve, so it takes more time to suck their plants.

Organic fertilizers should be introduced not every year, but once in 2-3 years at a rate of 40 tons per 1 ha.
