How to grow oyster mushrooms?

The key factor in the cultivation of these fungi is mycelium. It needs to be purchased in the right amount from companies that are engaged in industrial cultivation and wholesale of mushrooms. For the first sample, you can take literally 0.5-1 kg of mycelium.

Then you should prepare a substrate for oyster mushrooms . As it can act crushed corn cobs and stalks, buckwheat husks, barley or wheat straw, sunflower husks. Prepare about 10 kg of pure, mold-free raw materials, grind the substrate into small fractions and heat it with hot water. Then cool and dry it to prevent overmoistening.

To grow oyster mushrooms, as a rule, it is possible in polyethylene bags or on stumps. The first way is much easier. It is necessary to fill 2 large packages, alternating the layers of the substrate and mycelium, and make slits in them for the formation of mushroom blocks.

The incubation period in fungi (10-14 days) should take place in a dark, moist place. As practice shows, to grow oysters in bags, there is no better place than a normal cellar. The temperature in it should be kept within 18-22 ° C. Daily ventilation is also necessary. When the mycelium grows and fills the mushroom block, the long-awaited fruiting period begins.

The temperature in the basement is reduced to 10-15 ° C, and humidity, on the contrary, increases - it should be 90-95%. To do this, you can spray the walls with water, making sure that it does not get on the bags. Also provide 10-hour illumination of the mycelium with fluorescent lights, and take care of the 4-time ventilation of the room. If you do everything correctly, then through the slots soon there will be rudiments of mushroom bodies, which very quickly turn into real mushrooms. The first wave of harvest can be removed after 2 weeks, gently wringing the mushrooms from the substrate.

After another 2 weeks, a second wave comes, and then two more. The growing conditions are the same. When the mushroom blocks cease to bear fruit, they are replaced with a new mycelium.
