How old is a puppy?

The life of every living being is somewhat like a human being. Puppies are no exception. They, like small children, begin to adapt to their environment after birth. From an adult life they are separated by several periods. And only the characteristics of some breeds or individual development can change the figure, which indicates how old the dog is considered to be a puppy.

How many months is the dog considered a puppy?

The most difficult period of adaptation of a small organism lasts about three weeks from the moment of birth. The main reflexes of the newborn are aimed at finding the mother's nipple, providing it with food. Even the time of day does not matter to him. Respiratory, cardiovascular, nervous and other systems also work differently, gradually changing their rhythm towards adulthood. In the neonatal period, the baby adds weight, opens his eyes and starts walking.

From three to four weeks, nature separated the puppy for a transitional period. In connection with teething, he has an interest in solid food. He increasingly tries to leave the nest, examining the situation. New impressions and laws of the animal world affect the young organism, leaving it still vulnerable to danger.

The third stage is the socialization of the animal, which lasts, in some cases, up to 80 days. Absence from the mother is replaced by reflexes that help him survive. The activity increases and the daily rhythm is adjusted. It is very important to pay attention to the puppy, playing with it. It is better if the partner is another puppy. The absence of walks and loneliness adversely affect the further development.

On the third or fourth month there is a change of teeth and the juvenile period begins. The main properties of the rock, its character are revealed. It will be almost six months, and we will be able to observe the first sexual games. It is important at this stage not to isolate the baby from communicating with peers. The age to which the dog is considered a puppy completes the seven months of development and complete replacement of the teeth.
