To be able to watch TV on the TV, you need to connect it to the antenna. It happens that for some reason you do not have an antenna: you may not have the desire or the means to pay for the services of a television transmitter, or you are far beyond the city, where the TV will not show without external reception of a signal in the form of an antenna.
To be able to watch TV for him, you need an antenna. Of course, if there are means easier and faster to buy it in the store. But you can go another way. About how to make an antenna for a TV with your own hands will be told further.
If you make an individual antenna yourself, you will be able to view a slightly smaller volume of TV channels and in worse quality, but absolutely free.
Indoor HDTV Antenna
Having made an antenna yourself, you can receive a signal from a television tower in the range 470-790 MHz.
Before making an antenna from wire, the following materials should be prepared:
- knife;
- Scotch;
- a stapler;
- roulette;
- glue;
- scissors;
- marker;
- foil;
- cardboard.
- Print out the template on paper and cut it out.
- Cut out a cardboard reflector measuring 35 cm (height) by 32.5 cm (width). We glue it with foil.
- We search for the middle and cut out two small rectangles.
- From the template we cut out the details from the cardboard.
- You can paint details in any color.
- Now cut out the foil pattern.
- For a bend on the puncture, make a small incision.
- We glue the foil on the antenna vibrator, which is called the "butterfly".
- Let's start assembling the antenna. At a distance of 3.5 cm from the reflector we glue the butterfly.
- In the middle of the butterfly we drill holes for the cable.
- We put the matching transformer from 300 to 75 Ohm.
- Antenna for home use is ready.

Antenna for dacha own hands
Antenna for a summer residence is made in the form of a lattice. First we prepare inventory:
- a copper wire with a diameter of 4 mm and a length of about four meters;
- board width of 7 centimeters and a length of 55 cm;
- plug;
- ten screws;
- ruler;
- a simple pencil;
- tape measure;
- soldering iron.
1. From the board we make the workpiece according to the following scheme.
2. The dimensions on the photo are in inches. They need to be translated into centimeters:
- 3/4 "= 2 cm;
- 1 "= 2.5 cm;
- 2 "= 5 cm;
- 2 5/8 "= 6, 66 cm (can make 6.5 cm);
- 5 ΒΌ "= 13, 33 cm (do 13 cm);
- 22 "= 55 cm.
3. The copper wire is cut into 8 pieces of length of 37.5 cm each (15 inches).
4. For the future connections, the middle of each wire must be stripped.
5. Cut two wires of 22 cm and clean at the junction.
6. Other wires bend with the letter "V". The distance between the ends must be three inches (7.5 cm).
7. Assemble the antenna as shown in the photo below.
8. Take the plug and connect the antenna with the cable.

9. The bottom of the coil should be soldered to the cable.
10. Attach the plug to the board.
11. An antenna for receiving TV channels in the country is ready to receive a signal.
How to make a mast for an antenna?
If you use a homemade antenna at the dacha, you need to use a mast for its external attachment. You can also make it yourself. For this, steel pipes are suitable.
- We take two pipes and dig in the ground.
- We drill holes on each side and insert a bar of steel reinforcement.
- On the rod "string" the mast itself or the sleeve of the pipe.
- In this sleeve, you can insert any number of pipes. We attach them with a steel cable. Thus, the height of the mast for fixing the antenna can be made any by extending it with additional pipes.
