How to teach a child to play chess from scratch?

So, we teach the child to play chess. Where to begin? First of all, pick up beautiful souvenir chess, which can interest crumbs. Show the child all the figures, in a jocular manner explain what functions each of them performs, then show him the battlefield - the chessboard.

If the child categorically does not want to use the board, but he likes to just play with the figures, it's best to take them away and get them later when the baby grows a little. Further, using the board, you need to demonstrate to the kid how pawns and other figures go, and how to "eat" correctly.

For beginners, you can play chess with one pawn. Remove all other pieces and ask the child to bring his pawns to your side of the field. Your task, accordingly, is to forward your pieces to the side of the baby. Naturally, at first it's better to succumb to a karapuzu so that he does not get upset. Otherwise, after one or two losses, the crumb will drop all desire to play.

After a while, when the kid learns this game, add the rooks and repeat the game with two different figures. So, gradually, add to the field and other elements. Finally, when you enter the king's game, you should explain to the child what the true meaning of playing chess is.

Learning to play chess well for children is not as difficult as it is for adults. Kids very quickly absorb any information and are able to calculate the moves a few steps forward. Be sure, playing chess will be extremely useful for your child, so try to allocate time for training.
