Soft toys are loved not only by children, but even by adults. Like all other textile attributes in the house, they need care. How to wash large soft toys at home?
If the toy is large, but still placed in a washing machine , you can try to wash it this way. But here it is important to know at what temperature and on what regime to wash soft toys:
- the temperature is usually indicated on the label on the toy itself, most often 30 or 40 ° C, but there are toys that can be washed at higher temperatures;
- the washing mode is better to choose a delicate one so that the filler does not get damaged and not crushed in the process;
- it is advisable to set the regime of additional rinsing, so that the powder completely leaves the padding material and does not cause allergy in the child .
And do not forget to remove the musical mechanism before washing, otherwise your toy will no longer be able to sing.
How to wash large soft toys that do not fit in the washing machine or on the label is a sign forbidding it to do? It is necessary to wash manually in a large basin or even in a bathroom. In this case, it is better to pre-cut the upper material and take out the packing. You can disinfect the pack in the freezer - put it there for a few hours, and all the dust mites will die.
Wash the upper fabric in warm water, with powder dissolved in it or a special liquid. After this, you need to thoroughly rinse it, preferably under running water. After washing the "skins", drying and ironing, once again stuff the toy and gently sew up the ripped place.
If you are not sure that you will be able to bring the toy into its original form, it is better not to rip it out, but just have a good vacuum cleaner with a nozzle for upholstered furniture. Contaminated places can be washed with a soap sponge or brush.
