Let us consider in more detail.
Leeches in gynecology - contraindications
Girudotherapy is prohibited during menstruation. The fact is that this can lead to a sharp increase in bleeding and, as a consequence, to some blood loss and increased signs of menstrual syndrome.
Pregnancy is a contraindication, since the extraction of blood from the body of a future mother is fraught with miscarriage. In the postpartum period, leeches can be treated only after 3-4 months, after healing of all the ruptures or cuts, if a cesarean section has been performed.
Leeches - contraindications for blood incoagulability
Hemophilia and other diseases associated with a lack of platelets in the blood, do not allow for hirudotherapy, since the bite of a leech can lead to prolonged bleeding that threatens human life. In addition, the saliva of worms contains enzymes that reduce the ability of the blood to clot, which only aggravates the disease.
Leeches with varicose - contraindications
The expansion of veins does not respond to treatment with leeches, contrary to popular belief. Hirudotherapy helps to thin the blood, which in no way affects the course of varicose veins. The cause of this disease is the widening of the venous lumen and disruption of the valve vein, which has nothing to do with thrombosis and thickening of the blood.
Moreover, the use of this method in varicose causes such side effects from leeches:
- thrombophlebitis;
- erysipelas;
- abscess;
- phlegmon of the lower leg;
- allergy.
Leeces - Contraindications in Oncology
Malignant tumors in the body, as a rule, are accompanied by anemia, a decrease in blood coagulability, exhaustion. In addition, the proliferation and disintegration of cancers are characterized by frequent bleeding. Therefore, the additional intake of blood from the patient through hirudotherapy is absolutely contraindicated.
