Mirabilis - landing and care in the open ground

Called the still nocturnal beauty, the plant mirabilis got its second name not by accident - the flowers on this amazing bush open in the afternoon and fade with the first rays of dawn. Thanks to cross pollination in one bush, you can see several coloring similar to small gramophone pipes of buds. Despite the exotic origin, planting, cultivation and care of the mirabilis in the open ground will not bring hassle even florists with minimal experience.

Cultivation of mirabilis from seeds

The main way of reproduction of mirabilis is its growing from seeds. They have an excellent germination, so in warm regions the night beauty is sown immediately into the open ground in April-May. In areas with more severe weather conditions it is necessary to tinker with the cultivation of seedlings. To do this, prepare deep seedlings or pots, filling them with nutrient and loose soil with low acidity. It is also permissible to sow the night beauty and in peat cups. Pre-soak the seeds do not need, it is quite good to moisten the soil.

Care for mirabilis

When growing the mirabilis, it should be borne in mind that only a soil with a low pH is suitable for planting a night beauty. Therefore, it is not superfluous to introduce a small amount of mineral fertilizers and wood ash into the planting pit. Further care for the mirabilis is reduced to regular watering and top dressing. The latter should be carried out at least once a month, using ready-made mineral complexes for these purposes. This will give the bush strength for abundant and prolonged flowering. But even they will not help in case of violation of the drinking regime. For lack of moisture, mirabilis immediately responds by wilting the leaves and dropping buds.
