Nephroptosis of 1 degree

Kidneys in a healthy person have some mobility, with physical exertion and deep breathing, they can vertically shift relative to the spine within acceptable limits. If the organs cross the established boundaries (the body of the 1st vertebra, about 1.5-2 cm), nephroptosis takes place. This disease is also called an omission or pathological mobility, a kidney wandering.

There are three stages in the development of the disease, the easiest is a grade 1 nephroptosis. Despite this, its treatment should be approached very seriously, since the omission of the kidney provokes severe irreversible consequences.

Signs and symptoms of a nephroptosis of 1 degree

The early stage of the described pathology is rarely accompanied by marked clinical manifestations. Slight mobility of the kidney is often unnoticed by patients, which is why timely medical attention is not provided.

Sometimes nephroptosis of the right or left kidney 1 degree has the following symptoms:

How is the diagnosis of a 1 degree nephroptosis established?

You can identify the disease already at the primary examination with a nephrologist or urologist. When palpation during a deep inspiration, the lowered kidney is clearly palpable through the anterior wall of the peritoneal space. After exhalation, the organ lurks in the zone of the hypochondrium. In addition, the following methods are used to diagnose nephroptosis:

With bilateral kidney wanderings, additional studies may be required - irrigoscopy, x-ray of the stomach, colonoscopy.

Treatment of a nephroptosis of 1 degree

The initial degree of development of pathology presupposes conservative therapy. The patient must:

  1. Wear supporting corsets, belts, bandages.
  2. Attend massage sessions of abdominal muscles.
  3. Limit physical activity.
  4. Engage in special gymnastics and physiotherapy exercises.
  5. Observe a high-calorie diet, especially when there is a shortage of body weight.
  6. Once or twice a year, take a course of sanatorium treatment.

Also, water physiotherapy is prescribed, bathing, cold compresses, showers with a high head of fluid are useful.
