And having mastered more complex openwork patterns by crocheting, you will be able to knit beautiful decorative napkins, light translucent shawls or any other details at your discretion.

In this master class the object of our attention will be the openwork patterns crocheted. And, more precisely, only one of the many variations that can be performed in this technique. Openwork ornaments are good for their multifunctionality. From them you can create a complete product, for example, a beautiful translucent bolero or thin light scarf. But also an openwork strip you can decorate a textile element, for example, to process the edge of a sweatshirt or bedspread.

Let's talk in more detail about how to knit openwork patterns by crocheting, using one of the simplest, basic ornaments - a column with crocheted.

Instruction:

  1. First of all, dial the desired number of air loops. This will determine the width of the future product. If you want to get a narrow decorative braid, then the number of typed air loops should be small. And if you associate such an openwork pattern with a hook you want for a scarf or baby blanket, then air loops will need a lot.
  2. To the already typed air hinges add another 4. Then, thread the thread on the hook twice. After this action, 3 loops should be placed on the hook.
  3. After that, thread the crochet hook into the fifth loop. The four hinges previously made will serve as the height of our future ornament.
  4. Wire the loop by pulling the thread through the fifth air loop. On the crochet hook after this step there should be 4 loops.
  5. Once again, wrap the working thread on the hook and tie it through the first two loops. After this action, the crochet hook should have 3 loops.
  6. Repeat the previous operation: thread the thread on the hook and pull it through the first two loops. After that, there should be 2 loops on the crocheting hook.
  7. Repeat the previous step: put the work thread on the hook and tie it through the first two hinges. On the crochet hook after this, only one loop should remain.
  8. As a result of these simple actions, a simple openwork pattern is created by the hook, which, thanks to its decorativeness, can become an interesting accent piece of a knitted or textile product. Continue knitting, repeating the previous steps, until you engage all previously typed air loops.
  9. After the series has been completed, turn the work over and sew 4 air loops that will make up the height of the next row of the ornament.
  10. Fold the work thread on the hook twice, thread the hook into the next loop and tie it.
  11. Again, thread the work thread and tie it through the two nearest loops. On the hook after this, 3 loops should remain.
  12. Fold the thread and tie it through two loops. After that, 2 loops remain on the hook.
  13. Repeat the thread of the working thread and tie it through the remaining two loops. As a result, one loop remains on the hook.
  14. Continue the previous steps until you are tying the entire row.
  15. The last loop of the series is tying by pulling the hook through the upper (fourth) air loop of the previous row.
  16. Two rows of ornament are finished. In the same scheme, knit this beautiful fishnet pattern with a crochet until the desired length of the product is reached.
