Young parents are often frightened by teething, which is supposedly accompanied by frightening symptoms: temperature, diarrhea, colds. Particularly problematic are children's so-called eye teeth. The eye teeth are the upper canines
Eye teeth sometimes call the canines of the upper jaw. They rightly deserved this name due to the structure of the jaw apparatus. The point is that the nerve is located at the location of the canines of the upper jaw, which is responsible for the connection of the upper part of the human face with its central nervous system. Because of this, the eruption of the eye teeth in most babies is significantly more difficult than all other teeth. And for some children, in which this nerve is located too close, the eruption of canines can accompany and such "side effects" as conjunctivitis or lacrimation from the corresponding glazik.
In addition, there may be other symptoms of eruption of the eye teeth:
- painful sensations and swelling of the gums;
- increase in body temperature to 37-38 °;
- diarrhea;
- a decrease in the immunity of the child and, as a result, the attachment of co-infections.
Terms of eruption of the eye teeth
Teething canines usually occur between the 16th and 22nd month of a child's life, after he has already had lateral and central incisors and the first molars (molars). However, there may be a wrong sequence of eruption, which does not indicate problems and is simply a feature of your child.
Keep in mind that the child may not show all of the above signs, but only some of them. Catarrhal diseases in the period when the child's eye teeth are climbing, it is necessary to treat. Do not expect that the cough and runny nose will go away on their own, as soon as the tooth cuts through the gum. The same goes for diarrhea, because, as you know, this is a rather dangerous symptom that can lead to dehydration of the baby. Symptoms of the disease may disappear, but the examination of the doctor in any case, the child will not hurt.
