The most famous place, the "Mecca" of Taman tourists, is the mud volcano Tizdar. It is constantly organized tours for those who want to not only see the miracle, but also swim in its curative mud. There is a volcano near the village "For the Motherland" only 150 meters from the sea shore. The miracle of nature is a crater lake with a diameter of about 20 m, filled with curative mud, which also includes elements such as iodine, bromine and selenium.

Among the Tamani volcanoes, the coarse dirt of Mount Miski in the past was a formidable phenomenon. In the XIX century, eruptions from the mountain nozzle in the form of a giant bowl (hence the name) were quite impressive, the last mud discharge happened in 1924. Now the crater of the volcano is extensive - about 500 m in diameter, with a depth of almost 13 m.

Mud volcano Hephaestus, or as it was called Rotten Mountain, also erupts medicinal mud. By the way, the mass ejaculated by him was used in medicine as early as the 19th century. The volcano even built a mud bath, but it was destroyed. Now there is a small infrastructure (cafe, shooting gallery, attractions), excursions are organized.

Mud volcano Shugo

Speaking about the mud volcanoes of Tamany near Anapa, we should first of all mention Shugo, one of the most impressive phenomena of the region. This largest mud volcano of the peninsula is located among the picturesque mountains and dense forests. The Shugo looks like a huge bowl with a diameter of almost 450 m and a depth of about 6 m. Akhtanizovskaya hill

How to get to the mud volcanoes in Taman?

Getting to the volcano Tizdar is easy - you need to follow the route to the port "Caucasus", from where you will get to the village "For the Motherland" (it is 10 km from the village Golubitskaya). As for the Misk volcano, it's easy to get there - it's the south-eastern part of the resort town of Temryuk, the territory of the Military Hill Museum.

But at Hephaestus, one of the most visited mud volcanoes of Taman, the address is as follows: 15 km from the town of Temryuk along the route to Slavyansk-on-Kuban, turn right. The volcano Shugo is located 35 km from the resort of Anapa, 5 km from the highway between the villages Varenikovskaya and Gostagayevskaya. Karabetova hill rises 4 km to the left of the entrance to the village of Taman. Akhtanizovskaya hill is located 24 km from the city of Temryuk near the village of Akhtanizovskaya.
