The most important advantage of plastic window sills can be considered their complete inertia to temperature changes and an increased level of humidity. In addition, they do not lose their quality and appearance under the influence of direct sunlight or when chemicals hit, are not affected by microorganisms and small insects (for comparison: wooden windowsills can rot or be damaged by insects, stone sills though resistant to such influences , but it's quite expensive). Types of plastic window sills
Immediately it should be noted that the generally accepted classification of plastic window sills by type does not exist. Very conditionally they can be divided into species (or groups) by the type of coverage. The first group includes products with a standard coating. They, as a rule, are used in mass construction. Such windowsills are available in widths from 5 cm to 1 meter with a gradation of 5 cm in size (the width increases every 5 cm, starting from the minimum), the length can reach 6 meters, and the thickness varies within 20-22 cm. If necessary, the sill of non-standard size can be ordered individually.
The second group includes window sills (or, more accurately, a window leaf) with a thermal and shockproof coating. Typically, this kind of cloth is used to mount wide windowsills that additionally protrude as a working surface. The strength of such a coating is so high that on the surface of such a window-sill-table you can even cut with a knife, not being afraid to leave at least some traces. Such properties are achieved by laminating PVC window sills with a special film.
Separately, it should be said that plastic window sills, at the request of the customer, can be any color that matches the color of the window. Although the most popular are white plastic windowsills (as, indeed, windows). This is due to the fact that white is considered the base color. Window sills of all other colors and shades will differ from whites at a price, but in no way by quality.
