Peritrum - cultivation and care

This flower is planted as curbs and mixborders , for framing flower beds and flower beds, and also scattered throughout the garden. The pyrethrum saplings grow well under the trees, next to the ornamental shrubs. How to grow pyrethrum? Simple enough, because it is completely unpretentious - it grows in the sun, and in the shade, and in the penumbra, cold, even freezing to him at all. It grows on almost any soil, except for extremely depleted sand.

In the care of pyrethrum almost does not need: regular watering, top dressing in case of emergency, a rare weeding (it is only needed for young bushes, at the beginning of growth). It is very convenient that adult plants themselves suppress the growth of weed grasses.

After heavy rains and abundant watering, the ground beneath the pyrethrum bumps should be slightly loosened, this will not allow the crust to form. Adult, mature shrubs can be safely transplanted, but at the same time it is necessary to keep an earthen lump on the roots of pyrethrum. Reproduction of this plant is possible both by seeds and by dividing bushes. If the bushes are not cut, the faded arrows will simply grow on their own, and the owner will simply have to transplant the shoots elsewhere, in the spring. New varieties of pyrethrum are grown with seedlings.

Pyrethrum - growing from seeds

The seeds of pyrethrum should be sown in early March, in a loose fat earth. A layer of land above the seeds should be no more than five centimeters, boxes should be kept warm and exposed to light, the air temperature should not exceed 20 degrees. Sprout sprouts quickly, they can be transplanted to the garden in early May. But transplanting pyrethrum seedlings is necessary after preliminary training it to the sun and air. After landing in the open ground seedlings need to be shaded for a short while, at least ten days. Plant shrubs at a distance, it should be 30 cm.

There is almost no pest of pyrethrum, the only possible pest is aphid . To remove it, you need to treat the bushes with a suitable preparation.
