Syphilitic rash

Syphilis is a dangerous disease transmitted sexually and rarely by domestic routes. Thanks to the achievements of modern medicine, syphilis has not been considered a fatal disease for a long time, but, despite this, it is almost impossible to cure it at later stages. Over time, the disease affects the brain and nervous system, which can have serious consequences even with a successful outcome of treatment. Therefore, it is very important to recognize the signs of this terrible disease in the early stages, which significantly contributes to successful treatment and reduces the risk of complications. One of such signs are characteristic rashes on the skin, which are formed when the onset of secondary syphilis. Having looked at various photos, what a syphilitic rash looks like, it can be concluded that the variety of varieties of rashes characteristic of syphilis can significantly complicate the diagnosis. Nevertheless, the appearance of rashes, even remotely similar to a syphilitic rash, is the reason for contacting a doctor. The lack of timely diagnosis and independent treatment of syphilitic rash can only aggravate the situation and lead to unfortunate consequences.

There are several types of rashes, and often there is a simultaneous appearance of different types of rashes. By the way a syphilitic rash looks, you can determine the stage of the disease. Primary syphilis is characterized by the appearance of chancre, in the area of infection. Shankr represents a compaction with central necrosis protruding above the surface of the skin. Also for primary syphilis is characterized by an increase in lymph nodes, by the end of the period there is general malaise, fever, joint pain. Such symptoms precede the onset of secondary syphilis, which is characterized by the appearance of rashes on the skin. At this stage of syphilis, the rash can be in the form of pale pink spots, pustules (pustules) or bulges (papules) of copper, brown or cyanotic hue, symmetrical spots reaching up to 1 cm in diameter, as well as red, grayish or cyanotic spots. Very often rashes are localized on the hands and feet. At this stage, the syphilitic rash itches or hurts in very rare cases. Papules can hurt with pressure, but most often the rashes are painless, do not cause discomfort for a long time, which can lead to an untimely call to the doctor. One of the characteristics of syphilitic rash is copper color, spots can disappear, turn into papules or form plaques. Similarly, rashes can peel, cover with scabs of gray or dirty brown color. The rash indicates that the body has a large number of pathogens, pale treponem, but as the antibodies are produced and the number of pathogens is reduced, the rash disappears. As soon as the amount of treponem increases, a rash appears, which again disappears with time. With further relapses, the nature of the rash may change, the rash elements become larger, they can form circles or ovals on the skin. Secondary syphilis can last up to 4 years, during which the rashes will appear and disappear. In this case, the treatment of syphilitic rash should be in a complex of general therapy. If there is no treatment at this stage, tertiary syphilis develops, for which certain skin rashes in the form of tubercles and subcutaneous seals are also characteristic. Bugra can form rings, in the center of which necrosis starts and an ulcer is formed. Subcutaneous seals reach up to 1.5 cm in diameter, the surface has a dark red color. Over time, an ulcer is formed in the center of the compaction.
