The biggest dogs

Most of the breeds included in the list of the largest dogs in the world were bred for work purposes, mainly for the protection of cattle from wolves. This determined the main features of their nature: with proper upbringing, such giants perfectly guard the house and yard from the encroachments of strangers and, at the same time, are good companions for the owners, affectionate friends for their children. Today, many, especially those who live in private homes, prefer large dogs to small breeds for their friendly and calm disposition. The main shortcomings of giant dogs can be named, first, a short life expectancy, as many huge dogs live much less than their small brothers, as well as large expenses for pet food, because a large size requires corresponding portions of feed.
