The Libenskiy Bridge

There are many beautiful bridges in Prague , and the most famous is undoubtedly Karlov . However, the people of Prague themselves like the Lieben Bridge more than others - beautiful and rich in history.

A little about the history of creation

Initially, the Libenskiy Bridge was a wooden structure 449 m long. Its width was little more than 7 m, however, a tram line was laid across the bridge.

In 1928, it was decided to rebuild a more reliable bridge on the site of the wooden one. The architect of the project was Pavel Janak. He decided to give preference to the cubic style. As a result, the Liebensky Bridge is the first in Prague, on which there are no decorations in the form of statues or unusual stucco molding. Its only decoration is 5 large arches.

The new bridge has become wider and bigger than the old one. Its length was 780 m, and width - 21 m. Even at the beginning of this century, the Liebeni Bridge was considered one of the most reliable in the world, and also the longest in the Czech Republic.

As already mentioned above, this building can not surprise with some unusual beauty. In terms of entertainment Charles Bridge is much more interesting, it can be a long walk, enjoying a really stunning architectural art.

Libenskiy bridge is made in the style of Cubism, and accordingly, it is dominated by sharp lines. However, this place is very interesting to visit as part of the historical past of Prague. In addition, it is possible to trace changes in art and vision of how architectural structures should look like.
