What is ovulation in simple words?

The hormonal system is a very delicate mechanism. Thanks to hormones, which are incorporated into the female body by nature, the fair sex can bear and bear children.

Every girl knows that such a phenomenon as menstruation will accompany her until old age. Very young girls, having first encountered bleeding from the genital tract, do not understand why and why this happens. But everything is simple: it is the men who tell the girl that there is no pregnancy and you can part with a small layer of the endometrium (the inner lining of the uterus), which is growing in order to start growing a human embryo, but now it was not necessary. However, the most interesting occurs in the middle of the cycle, from menstrual bleeding to others. At this time, there is ovulation, which in simple terms implies such a phenomenon as the release of a mature, ready-to-fertilize egg.

How does ovulation occur?

Everyone knows that a woman has two ovaries, in which, as a rule, one by one, with a periodicity of one month, the egg ripens. With the beginning of each menstrual cycle, this mechanism is triggered again and again, and this will happen as long as the fair sex member has menstruation. The follicle, or "capsule", in which an egg grows, bursts and releases an egg to the fallopian tubes at the time of its "birth." This phenomenon is called the period of ovulation or during the day, which will be more accurate, because the release of the egg from the "capsule" occurs within 2-3 minutes, and she lives no more than 24 hours.

How to determine the date of ovulation?

Menstrual cycle of a woman consists of two phases: follicular and luteal. The first is responsible for the maturation of the egg, and the second is responsible for the possible conception and development of pregnancy. At the end of the follicular phase, there is such a phenomenon as ovulation, the fact that the egg was "born" when it leaves the follicle and enters the fallopian tube, where, possibly, conception will occur.

Calculate this significant event, or the date of ovulation is simple, the most important thing is that the men's monthly intervals are regular. For example, take a 30-day menstrual cycle. The second phase, as a rule, is always 14 days, regardless of its duration. Therefore, the date of ovulation will not be difficult to calculate: 30 - 14 = 16. So, ovulation will occur for 16 days from the start of menstruation.

However, this method is not applicable for women with irregular cycles. In addition, ovulation can be both early and late, which does not correspond to our calculations.

Therefore, if you are not entirely sure of the mathematical method of counting, you can resort to two more. In the first case, an ovulation test will come to the rescue, which can be purchased at any of the pharmacies.

The second is based on plotting the basal temperature graph. For this, the menstruation should first be immediately after waking up, without getting out of bed, to measure the rectally basal temperature. It should be noted that a continuous sleep before the measurement should be at least 6 hours. On the day when ovulation occurs, on the chart you will notice a sharp temperature jump upwards (at least by 0.3 degrees).

So, in simple terms, ovulation, both in women and girls - is such a phenomenon that it can guarantee the onset of pregnancy in 70% of cases if an unprotected sexual intercourse was performed during this period. It is worth remembering that for 5 days before the date of ovulation and the day after it is worth to exclude any unprotected sex acts, unless, of course, you are planning a pregnancy. And this is well-founded figures, because doctors have proved that despite the fact that the ovum lives only for a day, spermatozoa are able to maintain mobility in the woman's genital tract for five days.

Ovulation is the release of the ovule from the follicle, and the mechanism of this event is the same for young girls and mature women. This phenomenon has no age limits and happens as long as the fair sex goes monthly.
