When are they paid maternity?

The issue of material security always comes very acute for the future mother, since the birth of each child significantly increases the financial costs of the family and often puts it in a quandary. That's why most women are eagerly awaiting the payment of maternity leave, which they are legally entitled to and often quite a significant amount.

For what period and when are the maternity paid?

Based on the name of this measure of financial assistance, it is not difficult to guess that maternity leave is paid when a woman goes on maternity leave, and immediately for the entire period. At the same time it should be understood that the entire time of liberation of the future and young mother from work includes two segments - maternity leave and childcare leave.

Under maternity money, it is usually understood the amount of financial compensation that a woman relies on during her maternity leave. The duration of this period is strictly determined by law. So, in Russia, a future mother who soon expects the birth of one toddler gets a sick leave for a period beginning exactly 10 weeks before the expected date of delivery and 10 weeks after that date.

In Ukraine, this period is somewhat shortened - its prenatal part is also 70 days, whereas the postpartum period is only 56. If a Russian citizen wears two or more children simultaneously at heart, she is entitled to maternity leave with a total duration of 194 days - it starts 12 weeks before the estimated date of delivery and ends 110 days after it.

The sick leave for the entire maternity leave is given to the woman in an "interesting" position at about the 30th week. Although it reflects the exact range of dates of exemption from work, this period is not always final. If the birth of a young mother happened prematurely or if it was accompanied by complications, it could be prolonged for 14 days in Ukraine and 16 days in Russia.

When are you obliged to pay maternity?

By law, employers must pay maternity leave when a woman brings a sick leave, not later than 10 days after his surrender. Nevertheless, this "ten-day" starts when the original of the hospital sheet and the written application of the future mother-in-law arrive to the employer's accounting department, and not from the moment of the beginning of the holiday itself.

At the same time, each organization has the right to decide independently when to pay maternity leave. In some cases such payment is made out in a separate statement, while in others it is timed to the date of the next salary payment to all employees of the enterprise.
