By doing this, we are unconsciously stimulating social and economic development, creating new jobs, building mutual understanding between different countries, protecting and preserving the natural and cultural heritage.
Every year on September 27, when the World Tourism Day is celebrated, there are a lot of events devoted to this in the world aimed at drawing attention to the importance of tourism, its contribution to the world economy and the development with its help of relations between the peoples of the most diverse countries.
History of the holiday World Tourism Day
The holiday was approved by the UN General Assembly in 1979 in Spain . This date is associated with the adoption of the Charter of the World Tourism Organization. Now it is celebrated in all countries of the world and every year is devoted to a new theme, which is determined by the World Tourism Organization.
For example, the motto of Tourism Day in different years was "Tourism and quality of life", "Tourism is a factor of tolerance and peace", "Tourism and water resources: protection of our common future", "1 billion tourists - 1 billion opportunities" and others.
To the celebration of the World Day of Tourists are relevant not only the employees of the tourist business (all those who make tourism safe and fascinating), but also each of us. All of us at least once were elected if not to another country, then to the bank of the river or to the forest sanatorium of our region. Thus, we directly participated in the tourist movement.
On this day, there are widespread traditional gatherings of tourists, festivals, various festive events related to tourism and tourism. This day is very positive, because only tourism can give us a lot of positive impressions and new sensations, and also significantly expand our geographical and cultural-historical knowledge.
