The famous rural district called Abrau-Durso is located in the Krasnodar Territory in the vicinity of Novorossiysk and consists of three villages: Abrau, Durso and Bolshie Khutor. The factory of sparkling wines "Abrau-Durso"
Despite the small size of the Abrau-Durso County, there are many interesting sights here. And this, first of all, the plant of champagne wines. Its history begins with the seventies of the XIX century, when the local lands were allocated for the estate of the royal family. Due to the unique natural and climatic conditions, the first vineyards were laid in the village of Abrau-Durso. Planted such wine varieties as: Sauvignon, Aligote, Cabernet, Riesling, Pinot Blanc. These plantations became the basis for the development of viticulture on the entire Black Sea coast of Russia. In the nineties of the same century the prince Lev Golitsyn was appointed the manager of the winery. And from this period, the large-scale development of the Abrau-Dyurso factory begins.
Exclusive champagne was first released here in 1898. And with the exception of wartime, since then the production of this drink has almost never stopped. In the Soviet era, the plant has also become a research center, where various experiments are conducted to improve the quality of products, as well as to create new types of champagne. It was here that the famous "Soviet champagne" was released all over the world, and now they produce no less qualitative pink sparkling wine.
Tourists visiting the Abrau-Dyurso champagne factory can visit the territory, see the history of making champagne and taste its unique varieties. Here are preserved ancient buildings, multi-kilometer basements and tunnels. Near the plant there is a snow-white embankment with pavilions for rest.
Abrau Lake
Another attraction of Abrau-Dyurso is the blue Abrau lake, which is considered to be the largest fresh water body of the Krasnodar Territory. Today this place is especially popular among tourists. There are several legends about the origin of this amazing lake. According to one of them, the inhabitants of the mountain village constantly boasted of their wealth and wanted to lay out the way to the sea with coins of silver and gold. For this God was angry with them and, deciding to teach a lesson, created a lake in the village.
From the bottom of Lake Abrau warm keys are beaten. The water of a beautiful emerald-blue color, beautiful nature with picturesque green paths attracts many tourists. In summer, the water warms up to 28 degrees, so there are many lovers to swim and sunbathe. In addition, the lake also attracts fishermen: here you can rent a boat and fishing rods, catch carp, carp, perch.
With the lake are connected riddles, which no one has yet been able to solve. One of them is this: a river flows into the lake, there are keys at the bottom, but there is no runoff from the lake, although the water leaves somewhere. Another secret of Lake Abrau is a strange white strip on the water surface, which can be observed only at night. In winter, this place freezes last.
Around the lake are broken cozy alleys with park sculptures. Here you can see the avenue of lovers, the monument to Utesov, the fountain with the romantic name "Spray of champagne".
At the Abrau-Dyurso resort, as well as in all the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory , excellent conditions for recreation were created. You can sunbathe on a clean pebble beach, surrounded by mountains, to ride a jet ski. Among the high scenic rocks there are many wild beaches. And on the Black Sea coast of the resort of Abrau-Dyurso, you can sometimes admire the dolphins, frolicking pretty close to the beach.
