Academy of Fine Arts


The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sarajevo is famous for its numerous architectural monuments, which are real masterpieces. In particular, they include the Academy of Fine Arts.

History of the origin and existence of the Academy

The building dates back to the 19th century. It was built during the Austro-Hungarian War. During this period a large number of Protestants appeared in Sarajevo, and specially for them was erected a building in which the Evangelical Church was located.

The project was created by the famous architect Karl Parzik. In doing so, he applied Romano-Byzantine style. Since those times, the central domed structure is a real decoration of the city and attracts attention.
