Vloro Bosne Nature Park

One of the most popular natural attractions of Bosnia and Herzegovina is located in the suburbs of the capital. Vlorlo Bosne Nature Park is located by the Bosna River near the foot of Mount Igman, in the southwestern part of Sarajevo .

History of the park Vrelo Bosne

Ancient park was founded in the time of Austria-Hungary. A Roman bridge, built in the middle of the 16th century, was moved across the river Bosna. For its construction used real Roman stones and the remains of the former bridge that existed during the Roman Empire. When Sarajevo was in the epicenter of the Bosnian conflict, the protection of the park ceased. Local residents hacked the centuries-old trees from hopelessness, since there was nothing to heat their own. In 2000, thanks to the efforts of local youth and the support of international organizations, the park was restored, put in order and opened to the public. About 60,000 tourists visit Vrealo Bosna every year. In this park, the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team often trains.
