Games for the development of the imagination

Imagination is what distinguishes a child from an adult. It is this that forms the personality of the baby. A full development of the imagination in children is impossible without the participation of parents, educators in kindergartens, specialists in schools of early development. An important place in this process is played by games for the development of imagination in children, common in psychological and pedagogical practice.

If professional educators view this process in a complex (logic-content courses, simulated situations, dialogues), parents can independently provide additional development of the imagination of children of preschool age, simply playing with them in the "right" games.

Why develop imagination?

In the understanding of some, imagination is associated with fantasy, but it is not. It is impossible to achieve success in school if the imagination is not developed. Such a child hardly understands the new teaching material, he has problems with memorization, establishing links between phenomena, solving practical and theoretical problems. Even thoughts and speech are difficult to express. Special exercises for the development of imagination, designed for children, are a component in creating a good "launch pad" of a normal thought process.

We play with advantage

If the role of the game in the development of imagination is so great, it would be logical to think that such games should be complex. However, fortunately, this is not so. Each mother remembers, it would seem, a trifling game, when the kid burst into laughter at the sight of a mother looking out from under the sheet. In fact, he was already waiting for her appearance, although he saw only the sheet. A five-month-old kid is able to "finish" the image of a mother that she does not see before herself. Similarly, all games for the development of creative imagination "work", in which there is nothing complicated.

One and a half-year-old child can be offered to play games where it is necessary to imitate certain actions. To do this, choose a song or a poem, and repeat the movements with all that we are talking about: we float on an ice floe like Mamontenok, play the accordion like a crocodile of Gena, loudly weep for the ball, like Tanya. With two or three years old, it is interesting to play animation, that is, the child should present himself with a certain object, for example, an iron, and show everything that is usually done with this object. The older the child, the more meaningful and clearer the games can be. With a five-year-old child, you can even arrange a home theater for the rest of the family.

Do not expect that games to develop the imagination of preschoolers will give good results immediately. To the child was involved in the creative process, he must know the rules and conditions of the game. At first, thinking will be "polished", and then the process of its development will occur automatically. Assimilated on an automatic level, the material can be complicated in time.

However, do not rush things. The game in addition to developing functions should entertain and delight the baby. Engage in intellectual games with the child for 10-15 minutes, and then take a break.

These skills will prove very useful in the future, because, besides mental development, they contribute to the development of assiduity. The child learns to concentrate his attention, reflect, analyze. Do not correct the baby if today he wants to be a hedgehog with purple needles. Let him fantasize, it's very useful. In the end, he still will one day be sure that such hedgehogs do not exist, but today he will be fun and interesting.
