Airports of Latvia

International Airports of Latvia

In Latvia, there are many airports, but only 3 of them have been granted international status:

  1. Riga Airport - air harbor is located 10 km from the main sight of Latvia, its capital. Due to its location, this airport serves about 5 million passengers a year, dozens of flights arrive daily and depart from it. In 2001, a large-scale modernization was started here, which led to the repair of the take-off and the construction of an upgraded terminal. You can get to the capital airport by public bus number 22 or by ordering a taxi at a special stand, set in the arrivals area.
  2. The airport in Liepaja is also recognized as international. In 2014 the airport was closed for reconstruction, and in 2016 he was able to meet his first passengers in recent years. Getting to the airport is quite easy, you can resort to public transport (bus number 2), or you can use private taxi services.
  3. The youngest airport intended for international transport is Ventspils . Despite its multifunctionality, in our days this airport accepts only small planes of private firms.
