Akara turquoise - compatibility

Common aquarium fish turkeys have won the glory of quiet and peaceful people. Very rarely, and due to the fault of the aquarist spawning, the compatibility of the turquoise akara with other fish species is unsuccessful. So, the calm fish instantly turns into an embittered fury. According to some breeders, the contents of turkey akara and its neighbors ended with the fact that after a while only one was left in the aquarium ...

That these fish do not annoy cohabitants, the size of all inhabitants of the aquarium should be the same. Thus, the turquoise akara and other large-sized cichlids, for example, cichlazomes, live quietly in a spacious aquarium. Soma (synodontis, pterygoplicht), fighting flesh-like or shark barbs are wonderful neighbors for cancer. These fish will simply ignore each other.

A more complicated situation with astronotuses. Sometimes these related species peacefully exist. However, there are cases when turquoise akara and astronotus bring each other up to a great deal of stress, and the initiators of conflicts are acare. For this reason, the first time should be carefully monitored for fish, and at the first signs of aggression, they should be planted in different aquariums. Complete incompatibility is observed in cancer with dwarf cichlids. Delicate and intelligent scalars will be wounded or killed immediately if the akara becomes angry.

Causes of aggression

The anger and aggression in cancer is associated, first of all, with the period of spawning. These caring and attentive parents, guided by instinct, dig the soil, uproot the plants. An uninvited guest in a spawner will be instantly attacked.

In addition to the instinct of reproduction and protection of the territory, the hunting instinct is developed in cancer. If the fish is hungry, and the owner is delayed with feeding, then the lovely guppies , neons and other small fish will be perceived by the akara as a living food.

Despite the glory of terrorists, proper selection of aquarium inhabitants and timely feeding will help avoid fights, brutal skirmishes and murders.
