Blepharogel 2 - gel for the eyelids, designed to combat demodicosis and inflammation of the eyelids (blepharitis) that have arisen on their basis. Unlike Blepharogel 1 , which can be used as a means for daily care of the skin of the eyelids, Blepharogel 2 is, first of all, a medicinal product.
Composition
The drug is issued in vials of 15 milliliters. Blepharogel 2 contains sulfur preparations, hyaluronic acid, Aloe Vera juice, glycerin, propylene glycol, carbomer, methylparaben, propylparaben, deionized water.
As you can see, the only difference in composition between Blepharogels 1 and 2 is the sulfur content, which in the second preparation is the main active ingredient for fighting demodicosis.
Demodecosis is a parasitic disease caused by a microscopic tick that lives in the sebaceous glands and hair follicles. This parasite does not tolerate sulfur, which is toxic to it. It does not paralyze and does not create unfavorable conditions, like many other means, namely kills ticks. In addition, sulfur helps purify the excretory ducts of the sebaceous glands and normalize their secretion.
However, sulfur preparations in pure form actively dry the skin, and therefore are not suitable for areas where the skin is particularly thin and sensitive, in particular - around the eyes. In Blepharogel 2, in addition to sulfur, there are moisturizing and softening components that make it possible to use it for particularly sensitive areas of the face. These components are hyaluronic acid and Aloe Vera juice, which have regenerative, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibacterial and moisturizing properties.
Application of Blepharogel 2
In the treatment of demodicosis, the gel is applied twice a day, on the skin of the eyelids, previously cleansed with alcoholic tinctures of calendula or eucalyptus. The product is applied with a cotton swab, and then gently rubbed for one and half to two minutes with circular massage movements. Lubricated should be not only the skin of the eyelids, but also the ciliary edge. In this case, you should avoid getting the drug into the eye, as it can cause burning.
It is not recommended to wear contact lenses for inflammatory eye diseases, but if you have not abandoned them, before using the medication the lenses need to be removed and put on again no earlier than half an hour after using Blepharogel 2.
There are no specific contraindications to the use of this medicine, but there may be an individual allergic reaction associated with intolerance of certain components of the drug, in particular, sulfur. In this case, if it is demodicosis, another drug should be selected. If Blepharogel 2 was used to treat inflammation of another genesis or to relieve swelling and a symptom of eye fatigue, you can try to replace it with Blepharogel 1.
