Don Sphynx - care

The history of the Don Sphinx breed began not so long ago. In 1987, the Rostovite Elena Kovaleva regretted and brought home the abandoned cat. She was completely bald, and Elena began to treat her for alopecia, but there was no result. Varvara, so called the cat, was completely healthy, after a while she gave birth to wonderful kittens, among whom was the naked cat, as well as mother, Chita. A little later, a nursery was created, in which they breed and study these unusual cats.

These cats are difficult to call bald, although they are. Rather, they are softly velvety and, surprisingly, extremely soft and warm.

In addition to the Don Sphynx, there are two more types of sphinxes - Canadian and St. Petersburg. The differences of the Canadian Sphynx from the Don are insignificant, but still there are. The color of the Don Sphinx varies: white, black, chocolate, blue, lilac, red, cream, tortoiseshell, torby (tabby pattern on tortoiseshell). Figure tabby can occur in different colors. Also, colors can be combined.

These cats also differ in skin type:

Care and maintenance

Special care these cats do not require. Do not worry that they will freeze. Nature endowed them with a high body temperature. But still do not keep them in a room with drafts.
