Euphorbia

Grebenchotel bug is often confused with white. They are really very similar. However, there are still differences - in the comb-grouse, the trunk has pronounced facets, and its flowers are much more beautiful and more than white. Both these kinds of milkweed are indoor flowers and are grown by horticulturists with great desire, even though the juice is very toxic.

A comb or ribbed - here are some more names of a comb-shaped species of milkweed. It is an evergreen partially falling shrub. As already mentioned, has a ribbed trunk, which can be stretched to a height of 1.2 meters. Used as a decorative indoor flower.

Stipules of this plant are reddish cilia, which because of the arrangement of the leaves on the trunk form five ridges, which are interrupted in the lower part of the trunk.

The leaves of the plant are oval, elongated, bright green sometimes with reddish hues, glossy on top, and white on the bottom. This kind of milkweed in appearance resembles a palm tree, as the leaves grow only on the upper part of the trunk. On the vertex, new leaves constantly grow, their lifetime depends on the degree of illumination and other conditions.

Blossom ribbed spurge with pink or white flowers with bracts located on a small pedicel 4-5 cm high. The plant begins to blossom in the first year of life.

Care for comb fungal sprays

The spurge in any of its manifestations is quite unpretentious in terms of care. Because of its homeland in South Africa, it loves light and warmth. It easily carries dry air, so that they can be grown next to the radiators.

If the spurge does not receive the proper amount of light, its trunk is gradually bare, the leaves grow small. But do not rush to expose it under direct sunlight - in this case, the leaves will turn red and fall off. Choose for your ribbed milkweed a well-lit place where there is no constant direct sunlight.

In winter, the plant must be kept at a temperature not lower than +14 degrees Celsius. Watering in winter should be somewhat reduced, but do not allow the drying of the soil. Here it is important to find the golden mean - from the excess moisture the roots of the flower decay, and from the overdry drop its leaves.

Do not be frightened if in the winter period the flower is more abundant with foliage - this phenomenon is quite normal. This is due to the decrease in the light period of the day. If you do not want to allow a large loss of leaves - provide additional light to the plant.

By the way, leaves may fall for other reasons: soil overmoistening, a sharp change in temperature, constant drafts. If you notice that your spurge turns yellow and loses its leaves, review the conditions of its contents.

Reproduction of milkweed

The easiest way is to multiply the plant from the lateral shoots that form on the stem of the plant. They quickly take root in the soil and begin to grow.

Alternatively, it is possible to obtain a plant from the seeds that the plant spreads around itself to a distance of up to 1 m. Sometimes the seedlings of the milkweed can be found in the neighboring pots - do not be surprised by this.

In order to reproduce the spurge as quickly as possible, it is necessary to collect the seeds, sow them on the surface of the soil and cover with glass. At the first signs of germination, the seedlings can be transplanted into separate pots, using a light soil. To make them grow faster, you need to feed them abundantly with fertilizers such as mineral, illuminated in the winter months. As a result, the plant will quickly develop and in the first year of life will give bloom.
