Drops of Zipromed are referred to as antibacterial local action medicines. They are effective against bacteria that are sensitive to a group of fluoroquinols, which today are some of the most effective broad-spectrum antibiotics.
Composition and form of release of drops Tsipromed for eyes
Tsipromed - eye drops, which are released at a concentration of 0.3%. In the vial, a colorless or pale yellow liquid with ciprofloxacin in the form of hydrochloride (3 mg).
Pharmacological action of drops Tsipromed
The antibacterial effect of drops is effective against different bacteria and microorganisms: first of all, staphylococci are sensitive to fluoroquinolones. Also the antibacterial effect extends to:
- E. coli;
- gardnerelles;
- gonococci;
- Klebsiella;
- streptococci;
- corynebacterium diphtheria.
In humans, when applying these drops, there is practically no toxic effect, as occurs when taking the tablets inside. The active substance in a small amount enters the bloodstream, and lactation in the mother's milk can find traces of the drug.
The drug is activated within 10 minutes after application, and for the next 6 hours its effect is preserved.
Ciprofloxacin suppresses bacterial DNA, and disrupts their synthesis and growth, altering the cell membrane and walls, leading to the death of the bacterium. This antibiotic acts regardless of whether the bacterium of the gram-negative series is active or passive, and ciprofloxacin acts on gram-positive bacteria only when they are in the process of division.
Using drops Tsipromed does not lead to the formation of resistance to other antibacterial agents.
Application of eye drops Tsipromed
In ophthalmology, drops of Cipromed are used in inflammatory processes that are caused by bacteria sensitive to the active substance:
- Conjunctivitis - subacute and acute;
- blepharoconjugate;
- keratoconjunctivitis;
- anterior uveitis ;
- keratitis ;
- barley;
- bacterial ulcer of the cornea;
- bacterial injury after trauma;
- chronic dacryocystitis.
Also, drops of Cipromed are used for preventive purposes before and after the operation to prevent infection.
Method of application of drops Tsipromed
As Cipromed is an antibacterial agent, its use should be under the supervision of a physician. The treatment regimen given in the drug instructions may differ in individual cases.
If the drops of Zipromed are used from the conjunctivitis, then 2 drops are dripped into the conjunctival sac 5 times a day. Treat both eyes, regardless of whether there is inflammation in both eyes, or not. Infection is quickly transferred to the other eye, and therefore, as a preventive measure, the treatment of both eyes is prescribed.
In acute, pronounced conjunctivitis, Cypromed is used up to 8 times a day. This amount is due to the fact that in the first few hours the active substance reaches its highest activity, and then the effect gradually weakens.
Duration of treatment can be from 5 to 14 days.
Cipromed in barley is used 4 to 8 times a day for two drops in both eyes. Treatment can be up to 4 weeks, but often such a long course is not required.
Tsipromed - contraindications
Tsipromed is contraindicated in viral diseases of the eye, since the antibiotic suppresses the effect of immunity, and this can lead to complications.
Also these drops are forbidden to use during pregnancy and lactation, with allergic reactions to fluoroquinolones, as well as children under 1 year.
