The Farasan Archipelago is a group of coral islands located in the far southwestern part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 40 km from the city of Jizan, in the Red Sea.

What is interesting about the Farasan archipelago?

The archipelago includes 84 islands. The largest of these is Farasan el-Kabir, the center of the Farasan National Reserve. It is a state nature conservation area, which serves as an important breeding center for 87 rare species of seabirds. In addition, the Farasan Reserve is home to the largest gazelle population in Saudi Arabia, as well as the marine sirens, dugongs and sea turtles, rare for the Arabian region. Here you can watch even wintering migratory birds that have moved here from European territory.

The archipelago takes an honorable 6th place in the rating "Best Islands of Western Asia".

These places attract first of all fans of diving and sea walks. According to ichthyologists, in this part of the Red Sea you can see dolphins, moray eels and sharks of non-aggressive rocks. There are few beaches on Farasan, the shore and the bottom are sandy-stony.
