Furosemide is used in the treatment of severe forms of hypertension, as one of the basic means:

Features of the drug

In some situations, there are particularities in the use of the drug:
- With edematous syndrome, children aged 15 years and adults - one or two times in the initial dose of 20 to 40 mg (the maximum dose is 600 mg per day). The daily dose for children (up to 15 years) should not exceed 0.5 - 1.5 mg with the calculation for one kilogram of weight.
- In the case of hypertensive crisis, the dose is adjusted for the entire duration of treatment and starts from 20 to 40 mg.
- When poisoning with forced diuresis is appointed in a complex use with infusion electrolyte solution. Depending on the complexity of the condition, 20-40 mg of Furosemide is added to the solution.
Contraindications and side effects
The possibility of occurrence on the background of the drug:
- nausea;
- diarrhea;
- hyperemia of the skin;
- rashes;
- itching.
Do not use Furosemide:
- in the first half of the gestation period;
- with renal failure in the terminal stage;
- with pancreatitis;
- with anuria;
- with acute glomerulonephritis;
- with a renal coma or condition in front of it;
- with acute myocardial infarction.
