Generalized urticaria is the reaction of the body to contact with the stimulus. Its name was given to the ailment due to the similarity of blisters on the body with those that appear after the nettle burn.
In the generalized form of hives, blisters and swelling do not cover any part of the body, but the entire body. Such formations can be a reddish shade. They are very itchy, especially at night.
Acute generalized urticaria

Chronic generalized urticaria
A similar form of urticaria mainly affects adults. It can go on for years. And, all this time alternating periods of remissions and exacerbations.
Symptoms of generalized urticaria

- severe itching rashes of round or oval shape, the length of which can reach 15 or more cm;
- swelling in the brain, in mucous tissues and other organs;
- a sharp drop in pressure;
- dizziness;
- a compressive feeling in the chest;

- fainting condition, etc.

Treatment of generalized urticaria
In the fight against this disease, the following groups of medications are prescribed:
- antihistamines (they should be taken no more than 10 days, since in the case of a longer period of administration, depression of the central nervous system may be observed);
- glucocorticosteroids, which should be taken exclusively under the supervision of a doctor;
- diuretics;
- bronchodilator medicines, etc.
Moreover, contact with the provoker of generalized urticaria should be avoided.
