Zodak is a cure for allergy of the third generation. It is produced in the form of tablets, syrup and drops. This preparation contains one active substance cetirizine and various auxiliary components (corn starch, magnesium stearate, lactose monohydrate, povidone 30). They affect the early and late phase of allergic reactions, so they function only after 20 minutes, and the effect persists for an average of 24 hours.
Indications for the use of Zodak
Tablets, syrup and Zodak drops from allergies are used to treat:
- allergic conjunctivitis or rhinitis;
- allergic dermatoses accompanied by severe itching;
- Pollinosis (hay fever);
- Edema of Quincke.
This drug is prescribed for hives of various genesis, including severe cases, accompanied by severe fever (it is also called chronic idiopathic urticaria). Tablets and other forms of Zodak are used from allergies and in cases of seasonal exacerbation, and during permanent manifestations of such a disease.
How to take Zodak?
In the form of tablets Zodak from allergies take 10 mg per day (1 tablet), washed down with water. Dosage of this drug in the form of drops is 20 drops 1 time per day (1 ml of the drug). Syrup should also be drunk 1 time per day for 10 mg (this is 2 measuring spoons).
Do you have any abnormalities in kidney function? Before taking Zodak from an allergy, be sure to consult a doctor. You may need to set individual short intervals for taking this medication (they depend on the severity of kidney failure ).
Clinically significant interaction of this drug with any other medications has not been established. But alcohol should be abandoned during treatment, otherwise Zodak will not help with allergies.
Side effects and contraindications Zodak
Zodak, as a rule, is well tolerated by patients of any age group. Side effects occur in rare cases. Most often the patient appears:

- mild drowsiness;
- increased fatigue;
- dry mouth;
- dizziness;
- nausea;
- rhinitis.
Contraindications to the use of Zodak for allergies are:
- sensitivity of the patient to cetirizine, hydroxyzine or to other components of the drug;
- pregnancy;
- the period of breastfeeding;
- severe renal failure (in cases where the level of creatinine clearance is less than 10 ml / min).
