Translation of the word gerontophilia from Greek means love to the elders. This is a kind of fetishism, when sexual desire is due not to a certain personality, but to the age of a woman / man. It can also be a love for old women, associated with sadism. However, such a deviation is extremely rare.
Causes of gerontophilia
In psychotherapy and sexology, gerontophilia is considered as a disorder of sexual desire. This disease consists in an unhealthy sexual attraction to the elderly. It is observed in people suffering from psychopathy (personality disorder), schizophrenia and in mentally retarded people. The causes of gerontophilia:
- result of child molestation, seduction of children and adolescents by elderly people;

- problems of puberty, wrong sexual education can become causes of the disease;
- infantilism, weak sexual desire, especially in girls;
- sadism. Love against the background of sadism towards the elderly, who can not stand up for themselves, they are weak and defenseless;
- the desire of girls suffering from masochism, to obey the men of old age;
- attraction of girls to older men is explained by the desire to gain experience.
