How to knit the shawl?

Probably, there is nothing more pleasant than a chilly winter night wrapped up in a warm shawl and enjoy reading a book or watching your favorite TV series. And if this shawl is created by own hands, then it will be doubly pleasant to throw it on the shoulders. In this master class we will tell you how to tie a shawl with knitting needles, which will become an original and exquisite winter accessory.

In this lesson, a fairly well-known model of shawl "Haruni" is presented, the author of which is the designer Emily Ross. The pattern represents a slightly modified classical "fern" motif on the main part of the kerchief, smoothly turning into a leaf ornament bordering the shawl. To connect this shawl with knitting needles our master class will help you.

Necessary materials

In order to create an openwork shawl, you will need:

Instructions

Now let's explain in more detail how to connect this rather simple shawl with knitting needles:

  1. Dial 3 loops with any invisible dial.
  2. First loop off, and the remaining two are tying the front. Repeat this series 5 more times. Pay attention to the fact that you need to remove the first loop freely.
  3. Turn over the workpiece. Type 3 more loops along the edge and 3 invisible ones. In total, there should be 9 loops on the spokes. The first and last triples of loops are tied with garter stitch and form a lateral edge.
  4. Position the marker on the center loop of the row.
  5. Knit the shawl with your own hands using the "A" scheme. The diagram shows only half of the shawl.
  6. When the required number of rows is tied, go to the "B" scheme. It also shows only half of the product.
  7. After tying the last row, you can start closing the loops. For this, crochet 4 face loops together. Then, dial 6 air loops, and the next 3 again tie together the front. After that, close the first loop: toss it over the last one knotted. Then, again, dial 6 air loops and repeat the above actions the required number of times. Note that you only need to fasten the 4 loops together when closing the edge loops at the beginning and at the end.
  8. Now the shawl bound with knitting needles must be locked. To do this, wet it and stretch it on a horizontal surface, pinning all the perimeters with pins.

Shawl Haruni is ready!
