Since pots of flowers are put on the street, it is very important that the bushes look good and abundantly blossomed. To do this, you need to know how to properly water the petunia in the summer on the balcony.
How often to water petunia?
When self-cultivation of petunia seedlings, you should follow the following rules for its watering:
- use soft (without chlorine) water at room temperature;
- water pour into a pallet or spray on top with a spray gun to avoid damage to the roots;
- avoid stagnation of water and drying of the soil;
- spend it in the evening.
Until the moment when petunia builds a good root system in the flowerpot, it should also be watered carefully. The same applies to plants transplanted into the open ground. An adult strong plant in the future can already be watered with a watering can under the root.
The frequency of watering petunias on the balcony depends on the weather. In especially hot summer days it is worth spending in the morning and evening. Water is needed so much that it starts to come out of the drainage holes in the pot. It is very important that water saturate with petunia at a time when it is in the shade, so as not to "weld" its roots. In late May and early autumn, when the nights are not warm enough, you can limit yourself to 1 watering. In order for petunia to look good even in very hot weather, it is recommended to arrange evening spraying for it. Conduct it with warm water and only after sunset, so that tender leaves do not get burned.
With properly organized irrigation, the beautiful petunia will please its abundant flowering from May to September even without additional fertilizers.
