The Ischgl ski resort occupies more than 100 square kilometers of Austrian federal land. Ischgl is located between the two countries - Switzerland and Austria. Even if the weather does not please the rich snow cover - it does not matter, because 10% of local routes (about 35 kilometers) are served by snow cannons. By the way, the longest of the local routes has a length of about 11 kilometers.
Austria or Switzerland?
Experienced skiers should go to the mountain Idalp (Austrian side). The average length of the local slopes is 7 kilometers, the high-speed gondola lifts up the mountain. Here about 20% of the trails have the highest level of complexity - 40 kilometers of "black" trails, on which adrenaline in the blood rolls over! But from Switzerland there is a paradise for "dummies". Of course, there are several more or less complex routes, but in comparison with the Austrian slopes they are almost flat. The nearest airports from Ischgl are Zurich, Friedrichshafen, but the airport in Innsbruck is closest to the others, only 62 kilometers away. Traveling by train is another way to get to Ischgl. Here everything is extremely simple: buy a ticket to Landeks-Zamsa, and from there by bus number 4040, go to Ischgl.
