Ischgl, Austria

The Ischgl ski resort occupies more than 100 square kilometers of Austrian federal land. Ischgl is located between the two countries - Switzerland and Austria. All that attracts extreme lovers, is located on the side of Switzerland, where the pearl of the Alps is located - the ski resort of Samnaun. To his ski lifts you can go on skis, starting in Ischgl itself. Now let's take a closer look at the Austrian ski resorts Ischgl and Samnaun.

Accommodation

We will start with a description of accommodation options in Austria at the Ischgl resort. If you can afford, then you can stay in one of the hotels directly at the resort. Here you will be offered a choice of rooms in hotels with four or five stars. The most fashionable Ishgl hotel is the Trofana Royal. Just to enter here, you will have to adhere to a strict dress code. It is because of the high cost of housing, and all the rest of the infrastructure, guests of this resort prefer to settle in the neighboring, less well-known resorts Kappl or Galtur. The road to Ischgl from these resorts takes no more than 15-20 minutes. I am very glad that the round trip does not cost anything, because there are special buses for skiers here. Now you can go to the most important thing - a description of the conditions of skiing along the 235 km of magnificent trails running in the Alpine mountains.

Trails and lifts

Scheme of all the routes of the Ischgl resort can not be kept entirely in the head, for there are simply a huge number of descent options! Ride here at an altitude of 1400-2864 meters above sea level. Here the real expanse for fans of active pastime in the mountains! Only for beginners is allocated 48 kilometers of moderately flat slopes, where you will not overclock particularly. For their more experienced colleagues laid as much as 148 kilometers of "red" tracks, which in some places do not concede in the speed of descent to the most extreme "black" tracks. A lot of attention is paid to the development of descents for lovers of dizzy speeds - for them 27 kilometers of tracks are laid. Some of them have practically vertical lengths. Of course, in order to serve all these descents it took a lot of lifts, there are only 40 of them. We did not forget in Ischgl and cross-country skiing tracks. To their services about 50 kilometers of descents. Even if the weather does not please the rich snow cover - it does not matter, because 10% of local routes (about 35 kilometers) are served by snow cannons. By the way, the longest of the local routes has a length of about 11 kilometers.

Austria or Switzerland?

Experienced skiers should go to the mountain Idalp (Austrian side). The average length of the local slopes is 7 kilometers, the high-speed gondola lifts up the mountain. Here about 20% of the trails have the highest level of complexity - 40 kilometers of "black" trails, on which adrenaline in the blood rolls over! But from Switzerland there is a paradise for "dummies". Of course, there are several more or less complex routes, but in comparison with the Austrian slopes they are almost flat. Here is a technological miracle - a two-level lift, which brings newcomers to the beginnings of the "blue" trails. An unexpected pleasant gift - the DutyFree zone, we think, comments are superfluous.

The nearest airports from Ischgl are Zurich, Friedrichshafen, but the airport in Innsbruck is closest to the others, only 62 kilometers away. Traveling by train is another way to get to Ischgl. Here everything is extremely simple: buy a ticket to Landeks-Zamsa, and from there by bus number 4040, go to Ischgl.

Skiing in Ischgl is a world class ski vacation. By the way, on local slopes you can often see someone from Hollywood celebrities.
