The source itself originates at a mark of 669 m above sea level, the total height of the fall of water is 225 m. The most favorable for visiting Kiossfossen are the spring and summer months.

Beautiful story

The Kyosfossen waterfall is famous in ancient legends. One of the legends tells of a beauty named Huldra, who lived in a small house at the foot of the spring. Every year young people from nearby villages and towns visited Hüldre to marry her. But the obstinate beauty could not find among her many only ones, therefore she refused to leave her native places. Kyossfossen generously thanked the girl, giving her eternal youth. Local residents argue that if you look closely at the source water, you can see a beautiful girl singing an old song and waiting for her narrowed.

An ancient legend comes to life every summer. Tourists hear a Scandinavian melody, under which a girl in a red dress is walking along the viewing platform. The beauty sings a song, washed in a waterfall, imperceptibly disappears and waves visitors from the windows of her modest home.
