What is interesting about the Brixdal Glacier in Norway?

Brixdalbreen is one of the most accessible and most famous sleeves of the largest European glacier of Jostedalsbreen and lies on its north side, in the Brix Valley.   3. Glacial safari is perhaps the most popular and at the same time risky entertainment in the territory of Jostedalsbreen. The adventure begins at the end point of the glacier - Lake Briksdalsvatnet. The rafting on the lake lasts about 30 minutes and ends at the opposite end of the glacier.
  4. Individual tour. You can look at the giant block yourself, but only with the help of a qualified guide. For this purpose special equipment is given, thanks to which it is possible to see all the beauty of Brixdal not only from afar, but also near, having risen on its rocky slopes.

How to get there?

Not far from the Briksdal Glacier in Norway is a small village of Alden, from which it is literally 30 minutes by car you can reach your destination. In addition, the park Jostedalsbreen offers tourists group tours on special troll-cars. In total, 11 cars are available for holidaymakers, the capacity of each of them is 7 people, that is, for a single excursion a maximum of 77 people can get to the glacier. Such tours are organized during the period from May to October from 9:00 to 17:00, however, if the weather permits, you can book a tour outside the season. The duration of the trip is 1,5 hours. It should be noted that children from 7 to 14 years, accompanied by adults, are entitled to a 50% discount, and to children under 7 years old travel is free.
