The Altiplano high plateau in the Bolivian department of Potosi is decorated with a salt lake called the Laguna Hedionda. Inhabitants of the reservoir

In the lake there is a large number of plankton and other microorganisms serving as food for numerous species of birds. Walking around the Edgunda Lagoon, you can see pink and white flamingos, a vanishing species of James flamingo (until recently it was considered extinct, but it was here that nesting of these birds was discovered), as well as countless ducks, waders, geese. The animal world of the lake is meager and is represented by alpacas, llamas and vicuñas.
