Meru National Park


One of the most diverse parks in Africa is the Meru park in Kenya . It combines incongruous. On the one hand, the park is in the arid part of Africa, and on the other, 14 water bodies originate next to it. This amount of water caused the appearance of swamps and forests, which in turn made the Meru Park one of the most interesting parks in Africa.

The park was founded in 1968 and became popular due to the rare white rhinoceroses living there. By 1988, these animals were completely exterminated by poachers. Now their livestock is gradually recovering. By the way, it was in this park that an important event took place: here a lioness named Elsa was released back into the wild.

The Meru National Park is home to many species of animals. Here you can see: elephants, hippos, buffalo, Grevy zebra, a water goat, a shrubby pig and others. From the reptiles live here cobra, python and adder. And here more than 300 species of birds have found shelter.

How to get there?

You can get here by plane from Nairobi . The flight will take about an hour. Landing is carried out at the airport in the park.
