Mushrooms during breastfeeding

The digestive tract of the infant is fundamentally different from the corresponding adult system. For this reason, not all substances that enter your baby's body with mother's milk are useful for his health, and some can be called harmful without exaggeration. Often, women turn to a doctor with the question of whether to eat mushrooms during breastfeeding. After all, many people like this delicacy, and not all are ready to immediately abandon it during the lactation period. The answer to this question is ambiguous.

Is it possible to eat mushrooms with GW?

This product is a real storehouse of "heavy" protein, which is hardly digested by the body. This is due to the content in the mushrooms of a particular carbohydrate resembling chitin. In children up to 7-8 years, dishes from such forest dwellers can easily cause gastrointestinal disturbances, although they do not exert such an influence on the adult body. However, many pediatricians are skeptical about the use of fungi in breastfeeding. This is due to the following:

  1. Even experienced mushroom pickers are not always 100% certain that they can distinguish poisonous mushrooms from non-poisonous ones. Therefore, if you have collected them yourself or bought them on the market, there is always a high risk of poisoning. And fungal toxins, penetrating through the mother's milk in the stomach crumbs, can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, breathing problems and even lead to death.
  2. The baby, whose mother often eats mushrooms during breastfeeding, often suffers from a tummy and there is increased gas production, which leads to a decrease in appetite, capriciousness and sleep disorders.
  3. If the fungi grew in an ecologically unfavorable place, they are likely to accumulate poisons and heavy metals. Such a blow to the immunity of the child will necessarily turn up to him in the near future with disorders of the nervous, digestive, cardiovascular system. Therefore, if you are not sure of the origin of the product, do not think about whether it is possible to mushroom when breastfeeding, and immediately throw this thought.
  4. The introduction of such a product in the diet of a nursing mother in many cases provokes allergies and various gastrointestinal dysfunctions.

In which cases can you eat mushrooms?

If you are still not able to completely abandon such forest gifts, sometimes - not more than once a week or two - you can treat yourself to this delicacy. Also, any doctor, answering the question, when it is possible to mushrooms for HS, will say that it is not worth trying them before the child turns 6-7 months old. At this time, the baby will begin to produce new enzymes, so that the introduction of the product into the mother's menu will be more painless.

From the forest gifts experts advise to give preference to white mushrooms, chanterelles and boletus. However, it is better to buy oyster mushrooms or champignons, which are grown artificially. They pass the quality check before they go to the counter of the store, and they contain a lot of vitamins A, C, D and trace elements of selenium, zinc, manganese.

Be sure to follow the reaction of the crumbs. For the first time it is permissible to eat only one or two spoons of mushrooms. If the baby has started colic, there are allergic rashes or disorders of the intestines, immediately remove this dish from your menu.

One should not even ask whether it is possible to eat fried mushrooms during breastfeeding. This product is eaten only in boiled or stewed form, for example, as a part of vegetable soups. If a nursing mother ever had problems with the gastrointestinal tract, it should be discarded altogether. Also with GW, forget about pickled mushrooms: the high content of vinegar in them is not useful for crumbs.
