Pregnancy test at home

Each of the fair sex who passionately dreams of becoming a mother or, on the contrary, struggles against the onset of pregnancy, wants to know about whether she expects the baby, at the earliest. It is possible to determine whether a conception has actually taken place in many different ways.

So, the simplest and most reliable method is to go to a doctor and take a blood test to the level of hCG. At the same time, not all women have the opportunity to immediately visit a women's consultation, so most expectant mothers are thinking about how you can determine a pregnancy at home, with or without a test.

Try the first option is also not difficult - just go to the nearest pharmacy and buy a special test strip or a digital device that determines the level of hCG in a portion of urine. Meanwhile, there are such pregnancy tests that were used in the house. conditions are still our grandmothers. To carry them out, no special devices will be required, since all the tools are present in every house.

How to make a pregnancy test without leaving home?

There are several ways to make a pregnancy test at home without using special devices, namely:

  1. Measurement of basal temperature. This method is available only to those girls and women who were preparing for the onset of pregnancy for a long time. In this case, the basal temperature is measured daily for several months. If, starting from the first day after the delay of menstruation, the basal temperature does not drop below 37 degrees Celsius, it is likely that pregnancy has come. The reliability of determining pregnancy by this method is 70-80%.
  2. Iodine can also be used to determine if a conception has occurred . To do this, a portion of the morning urine of a woman should be placed in a small container, and then drop one drop of iodine into it. If the substance dissolves, pregnancy is not confirmed, but if a drop of iodine and will float on the urine surface, you can expect an early addition. The reliability of this method is not more than 60%.
  3. Another version of the test using iodine resembles modern test strips. To check the level of hCG in the urine in this way, it is necessary for a few seconds to lower the strip of ordinary paper in the morning urine of a woman who suspects the onset of pregnancy, and then drop 1-2 drops of iodine onto it. If the stripes turn blue, most likely, conception did not occur. If the indicator turns purple or purple, you can talk about the great probability of the onset of the waiting period of the baby. As in the previous case, the reliability of this method is no more than 60%.

  4. To determine pregnancy, you can also check the urine reaction of a woman to get into her baking soda. If you add a teaspoon of this product to the morning portion of the urine of a future mother, it will precipitate. If the soda starts to hiss, then, in this menstrual cycle, conception did not happen. This method is also not particularly accurate - its reliability is about 50-60%.
  5. The following method was used quite often by our grandmothers, however, to determine the pregnancy, it is ineffective - its reliability is only about 30%. So, in this case, a portion of the urine of a woman who doubted whether she would be a mother, was boiled in an iron container, and then poured into glassware. When confirming pregnancy after settling in urine, it should form a visible precipitate of white flakes. Meanwhile, the same situation is observed in a number of other states that have nothing to do with the expectation of the baby, so it makes little sense to use this method.

Of course, regardless of the results of such tests, in case of non-occurrence of another menstruation, it is necessary to consult a doctor. Do not ignore this state, because it can testify not only about the occurred conception, but also about the development of severe ailments.
