A note stand is an inclined surface on which you can arrange notes for easy reading during musical performance. They appeared more than two thousand years ago and were first used by the Chinese to read. For the arrangement of notes they began to be used by Swiss and German musicians in the fourteenth century.
Stands for music are called music stands. They are:
- Floor, which have a design consisting of a stand or stand and a surface for the arrangement of notes. They can have a function of adjusting the height and angle of inclination;
- The tabletops (have the appearance of inclined supports);
- Built-in musical instrument, which are installed on the frame of a musical instrument. They are removed from the tool after use or have a folding mechanism. These include a music stand for a synthesizer or a grand piano.
Types of music stands
The music stands differ depending on the material from which they are made:
- Metal music stand. This kind of music stands is the most common. For them, a folding mechanism is provided and it is very convenient to transport them.
- Wooden music stand. Such stands do not stack. They are installed if there is no need for a permanent transfer, for example, in concert halls and orchestras. Music stands made of wood often have a decorative appearance, equipped with various patterns. They are made in the form of musical symbols or instruments (for example, a treble clef, a harp). Therefore, as a rule, these products are expensive.
- Digital music stand , which has the function of automatic page turning. This is the most expensive and therefore rare type of stand.
Depending on your preferences, you can decide for yourself which music stand is the best and make the appropriate choice.
