Stomatitis is an unpleasant disease of the oral cavity. So that you can recognize the disease in any of its manifestations and know what are the symptoms of stomatitis, consider the main signs of all forms of damage to the oral mucosa.

The main types of stomatitis

What is stomatitis, for sure everyone knows. White unpleasant sores in the mouth, which can appear immediately on several pieces or one at a time. Symptoms of stomatitis can differ from each other, depending on what the disease was provoked.

• ulcerative;
• catarrhal;

The first symptoms of stomatitis

In most cases, ulcers can make themselves felt and be painful enough, however, for some forms of the disease, the symptoms of stomatitis are more difficult to recognize - at first glance everything is normal and nothing bothers.

Aphthous stomatitis

The main symptom of aphthous stomatitis is the appearance of aphthous ulcers in the mouth. Rankes can be single or multiple. Sometimes ulcers are deep enough. Afts are round or oval. Aphthous stomatitis is accompanied by an increase in temperature, and the wound in the mouth causes a lot of discomfort.

Herpetic stomatitis

Most often this form of the disease affects children. It is caused by a viral infection. The scars appear on the cheeks, lips, gums. The main symptoms of herpetic stomatitis:

• heat;
• weakness;
• poor appetite;
• increased lymph nodes;
• deterioration of sleep.

Catarrhal stomatitis

This is a common manifestation of the disease. With catarrhal stomatitis, the mucous membrane swells and becomes painful enough. The oral cavity can even become covered with a yellowish or white coating. Special symptoms of catarrhal stomatitis can be considered:

• the appearance of unpleasant odor from the mouth;
• bleeding gums.

Ulcerative stomatitis

Another form of this disease. This is a more severe manifestation of the disease. Ulcerative stomatitis affects the entire mucosa, not only its upper layer.

Candidiasis stomatitis

This is a fungal disease of the oral cavity. Children and the elderly suffer from candidal stomatitis more often than others. Symptoms of candidal stomatitis are as follows:

• dry mouth ;
• burning, intensifying during meals;
• reddening of the mucous membrane (throat, cheeks);
• the appearance of a white coating on the tongue, gums, cheeks.

Allergic stomatitis

Of course, allergic stomatitis is caused by an allergy to anything. Most often this form of the disease occurs against the background of taking medications. Recognize the symptoms of allergic stomatitis is easy: language and the mucous membranes swell, which makes swallowing difficult, many patients complain that the tongue does not fit in the mouth, because of what it turns out to bite more often than usual. The same happens with the inside of the cheeks. The sky becomes softer, which also causes discomfort.

When stomatitis appears in the tongue and throat, the symptoms are very similar to the signs of any acute viral illness: the throat hurts, it is very hard and unpleasant to swallow, the temperature rises, and weakness is felt. Among other things, the throat can be pinched and strongly itchy, but from traditional tablets do not pass. On the tongue aphthae, which greatly hamper the intake of food, may appear.
